Behind the Curtain - Mecha Mary

In her boredom, Mariel (or Mary as she prefers), has finished an endless number of projects. Among the biggest includes a giant robot version of herself, inspired by various old world reading material.  On the rare occasion she is able to get into a fight, this is used as a last resort if the fight drags on and she wants to move onto other things. While she could in theory pilot it herself, she normally leaves it on autopilot, having forgotten how to operate the overly complex controls she created.

Mariel’s towering fighting robot launches an all-out attack against the Heroines! Players will have a hard time initially dealing with all of her patterns at once, but as you start breaking down the robot’s parts victory becomes possible!

Adelheid’s magnum opus is based on an ancient composition from her alias. She has only been able to procure part of the original piece, and continues to work to complete it fully. Normally when imbued with magic, this song makes the listener lose their memory as the music lightly touches their senses in specific ways. When feeling dramatic, or just irate, the song can turn harsh, making you lose your mind in a much more literal sense.

Adelheid creates a veritable storm of elemental notes to sweep up the players. Similar to her Heroine form, her patterns flip your bullets face down if you fail them, making it harder to use your patterns. Keep them too long and they’ll hit you too!

When Ling-Ling’s technological secrets are at risk, she takes defensive measures far beyond company protocol. While she normally integrates technology into herself, she is also able to do the reverse, incorporating her body into the many systems that make up her laboratory. While in this state, she is practically impervious to damage, though she runs the risk of spreading herself thin in the vast network that makes up XIAO Technical’s databases.

While Ling-Ling is on the defensive, she’s much harder to hit. Mechanically this is represented by her shields needing exact numbers to complete. If you overshoot, she'll heal herself, so be careful to not send too many!

As one of the most well-known figures on Earth, Esfir has earned many nicknames that reflect her accomplishments and personality. The wolf borne on her family crest is a reminder to all of her original namesake. While her father was a shrewd tactician, she represents a much different side of her name. Soldiers under her direct command have come to know her dangerous side in battle, as she ruthlessly crushes any enemy that rears its head. The violent wolf that bears its bloody fangs, reaches impossible heights on the backs of those she has laid waste to. A shining light in the darkness, one that burns all who gaze upon it.

Esfir uses multiple patterns at once in an aggressive attack that doesn't let up. The more she's damaged, the angrier she gets, and the more patterns she can use. Her final shield effect can move lots of bullets into your hitbox immediately, so be prepared for anything!

Bullet ♥︎ Campaign Completed!

We just finished this campaign at over 350% funded! Not too bad for my first standalone design! But this really isn't about me, it's about all of you! Thanks for making our new project a resounding success! You've not only solidified a brand new game, but a whole new IP of games to come!

What Now?

Now that the campaign is over, we'll be working to get our pledge manager with BackerKit up and running. With this you'll be able to pay shipping costs, update your pledge tier, and add-on other L99 games to your pledge. This may take a few weeks, so bear with us! I'll be making a new update with more information when that's ready to go!

As for production, I'm working with our graphic designer to get Bullet ♥︎ to press as soon as possible! We're hoping to have it at press by the end of this month, but we'll see how things pan out!

For campaign updates,  Behind the Curtain will continue for the next few weeks to cover the Boss versions of each heroine! Besides that, when new production updates occur, I'll be sure to let you know.

What's Next?

I can't say too much right now, but with the success of this campaign, you can be sure to see more heroines for Bullet ♥︎ in the future! You might even see some from outside Cycle 617...

Other than Bullet ♥︎, we've got some more new games to show you later this year! Season 5 of Exceed will be announced soon, our first localization project is about to get underway, and maybe even more info about Seventh Cross will be announced this year!
